Astor Place Community Connections Fair

On Friday, The Village Alliance, Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, NoHo BID, and Council Member Carlina Rivera's office gathered for the Community Connections Fair at Astor Place. We spent the afternoon getting to know the services and opportunities offered by government agencies and local non-profit organizations.

Vistors met the Village's leading institutions like Lower East Side Preservation Initiative, The Cooper Union, Village Preservation - Greenwich Village Society For Historic Preservation, The Public Theater & Joe's Pub, New York University, and Washington Square Park Conservancy.

Resources for small businesses were available by talking to dedicated groups like NYC Department of Small Business Services, East Village Independents Merchant Association (EVIMA) and Pace School of Small Business (Pace SBDC).

And more involved themselves with the local community through connecting with nonprofits like Cooper Square Committee, Visiting Neighbors, Inc. and Police Athletic League NYC. Talk to government agencies like State Senator Brad Hoylman's Office and Council Member Carlina Rivera's Office, as well as Local Community Board 2 and 3 information.

Alongside the Community Connections Fair, a Recycle Your E-Waste event was hosted on the Astor Plaza from 10am to 4pm by the Lower East Side Ecology Center.
