Join Joe's Pub at The Public at Astor Alive! for an afternoon of FREE live music and performance on September 22nd.
Featuring West African beats to Mexican Mariachi, and dance classes to Jazz and Bluegrass, they'll be something for every taste and age.
The line up includes -
1:00pm - 2:00pm
Dance with Mark Morris Dance Group. A one-hour open level dance class by Mark Morris Dance Group dancers & accompanist.
2:15 - 3:15pm
Courtnee Roze. An incredible afro-beat percussionist and bandleader, features west African dance. Kids will especially love this performance, featuring a section where Courtnee moves through the audience giving children the opportunity to play her djembe drum along!
3:30pm - 4:30pm
Thurber Theater. Michael Thurber is a bassist and bandleader, and his variety show Thurber Theater features music and guests from bluegrass to classical to jazz to tap dance to spoken word.
4:45pm - 5:45pm
Mariachi Herencia de México. Multi-generational Mariachi group from Chicago.
Astor Alive is FREE and open to the public, taking place on the Astor Place south plaza.
