Civic Salon: Our Stories, Our Power

The Public Theater
425 Lafayette Street

The art of storytelling offers the chance to change a mind, to save a life, to expand horizons. Whether inside a theater or out in your community, a powerful story can build empathy and understanding, and help our communities emerge renewed and reinvigorated. Join keynote speaker Jessica Blank (creator of The Exonerated) and more for an exploration of the power of storytelling and how you can be empowered to share your own story – you never know who might need to hear it.

In a climate of divisiveness and seclusion, Public Forum is opening its doors to invite audiences to join us every month for Civic Salons: a monthly gathering where we can come together in the spirit of community to nurture our minds and our bodies. Each month will feature a different theme and different participants who will bring readings, songs, and a keynote address— all chosen in the hopes of inspiring civic engagement and social change. Joe’s Pub will offer a full menu available for purchase.
